Solomon now transitions from trying to infuse things into his experience and instead decides to step back and examine things as they are.  He gets out of the water and sits down on the beach and watches the waves.  He then gets back in the water and paddles out past the breakers and sits up high so he can peer out across the water to see what’s coming; so, he can feel the waves roll under his board and truly understand things as they are.  It’s at this point that Solomon realizes life is lived on things he can’t control.
