She has worked as a College Prep Advisor since 2015, primarily serving first generation college bound and low-income families. Mikaela has been awarded the "Whole Child Champion" award by the Tacoma School District, given to educators who, "Provide extraordinary social, emotional, and academic support in ways that benefit students, staff, families and the community. They create a positive school culture that we can all feel, and they make an incredible impact in the lives of students."</p>
