Il viaggio deve essere stato tremendo. Quattro giorni in carri chiusi, senza cibo né acqua, ammassati in uno spazio troppo piccolo. Probabilmente qualcuno è morto. E in fondo lo scopo dei nazisti è esattamente questo. Uccidere tutti gli ebrei. Cancellarli dalla faccia della terra. Raffaele Jaffe non muore, durante il viaggio. Ora, sceso dal treno alla stazione del campo di Auschwitz, deve passare la selezione.
