The South African automotive industry is critical to the South African economy, and it is the continent's largest vehicle exporter. With a 0.58% market share in vehicle production, the country ranks 22nd in the world. Despite its success, there is no doubt that the automotive industry is lagging behind other sectors in its efforts to address gender imbalance. As we continue to observe Women's Month, we pause to consider the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion of women in the automotive industry. We are joined by key stakeholders in the automotive industry to help us better understand where opportunities for improvement may exist in terms of closing the gender gap and increasing diversity in the industry.
