Unprayed Prayers
No two mountain trails are exactly alike. Some are a loop where you eventually circle back to the trailhead. Others are "out and back" trails that take you to an endpoint where you do an about face and retrace your steps back the way you came. When you don't finish a trail by completing its entire route, you've left steps untaken. Sometimes that's wise if the weather turns bad, the sun is going down or your body has had enough. Leaving a trail unfinished is acceptable. Leaving a prayer unprayed is not acceptable. When you tell someone you don't need prayer when they offer to pray for you, you're leaving a prayer unprayed.
Forgive me for not praying verse.
"Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:"1 Samuel 12:23 KJV
Joshua 10:6"Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us."
Zephaniah 3:16 "In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack."
2 Chronicles 15:7 "Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded."
Joshua 10:12-14 NLT "On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said, "Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon." So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies. Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day. There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the Lord answered such a prayer. Surely the Lord fought for Israel that day!"
Unprayed prayers may not make the Sun stand still. Unprayed prayers won't create days that will be remembered forever. Just going through the motions of life, just getting by; slack hands, slack minds and slack hearts leave one in the sinking sands of a slack life. Slack hands leave prayers unprayed.
Proverbs 18:9 AMPC "He who is loose and slack in his work is brother to him who is a destroyer and he who does not use his endeavors to heal himself is brother to him who commits suicide."
