In our profession, we often find ourselves in a never ending cycle of stress without even realising we're trying to solve all the wrong problems.
And if you've been in that cycle long enough then you've probably had thoughts such as...
"Maybe I'm just not cut out for this anymore"
"It's just the nature of the job"
"I just want to give everything up and..."
These thoughts then make us feel like a failure, like we can't hack it.
We feel shame when we start to notice compassion fatigue setting in, we just want to feel better.
To feel normal again, whatever that was.
So we try so hard to make ourselves feel better, but find that it’s short-lived.
