Abraham's story concludes, and Isaac carries the divine promises into the next generation.

As Abraham's life draws to a close, he continues to put his affairs in order. In Genesis 24, he searches for a wife for his son to carry on the divine promises.

Just when we thought the promise of a son had been settled, we are left to question what God has in store as God commands Abraham to sacrifice his beloved son. And, at the end of this episode, we will experience the first death in this family of promise.

This is the moment we have been waiting for. The turning point of the story. Abraham and Sarah welcome their promised child, Isaac. With his birth comes joy and trouble.

We enter the city of Sodom with God's two angels to see the wickedness first hand, and we witness the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah, which brings an end to the Lot saga. 

Abraham is visited by three men (2 angels and God). As he extends hospitality to them, we hear the promise of a child for Sarah and Abraham once more. God even invites Abraham into a moral discussion to decide the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah. How many righteous are needed in order to offset the balance of wickedness in the cities?

Despite our shortcomings, however, God finds a way to carry the relationship forward after the flood, choosing to call and invest in one man named Abram through whom the whole world will eventually be blessed. We continue his story in this episode.
