The narrative throughout the entire Bible reveals a spiritual power grasping for control and domination of people. Consider, for example: the serpent in the Garden seizing control over Adam and Eve by deception, Pharaoh and the Egyptian taskmasters exercising complete control over God’s people, Queen Jezebel was a notorious control freak and her name

shows up even in Revelation, the Pharisees sought to exercise control over the masses

and specifically over the incarnate Son of God. The desire for power over people is a continuing battle. It is a spiritual battle.
