Chris Coulter has walked through loss on several fronts. He lost a business. He lost a marriage. And in 2015, he lost my daughter Maddie to suicide. Each one changed him in ways he never expected. Grief became something he had to learn how to live with, not get over.
Over the last decade, he has spent his time speaking honestly about loss, regret, love, and what pain teaches us if we let it. Chris now helps parents better understand the grief process, not just after tragedy, but while they are still in the middle of fear, confusion, and quiet struggle.
The MentorWell is Chris’ living tribute to Maddie. It is where her kindness, her sensitivity, and her ability to make others feel seen now live on through mentorship. We connect teens and young adults with steady, emotionally aware adults who listen, support, and walk beside them as they find confidence and direction. It is built on the belief that no young person should have to carry heavy things alone, and that one safe connection can change a life.
He educates parents in the workplace through his LifeLine Parent Workshops addressing three questions he’s been asked by more than two thousand parents navigating a similar storm with their children: “How do I know if my teen is really struggling?” “How do I get my child to open up tome?” “Where can I go to find resources for my struggling child?” Parents leave with a sense of calm, confidence and preparedness.
