Dr. Chris Whaley was a sickly child, constantly in and out of the hospital. He began watching professional wrestling and got hooked. In the fourth grade, he had polio and viral encephalitis. He was in the hospital for three months and had to learn to walk all over again.
Thanks to a wonderful doctor, he was encouraged to work out in the gym. He loved working out and soon would look like a professional wrestler.
He answered an ad in the newspaper to become a professional wrestler.
He wrestled for ten years, working against four world heavyweight champions, including The Undertaker and The Ultimate Warrior.
He became a pastor in 1988. He soon went against some people more as a professional wrestler than a pastor.
He wrote a book about it entitled The Masked Saint. The book was made into an award-winning movie by the same title.
He has been a pastor for over 35 years. He has written two other books, Harold's Heavenly Christmas and the just-released Mr. President.
He has been married to his high school sweetheart for 48 years. He has two married daughters and six grandchildren.
