When asked what Eric's Fun-duh-Mentals are this is what he had to say:

1. Be a Sheriff that listens to understand. One that realizes that crime prevention does not begin at the 911 call. One that can bring a community together. One that can get his community to refer to themselves as AMERICANS, not Republicans or Democrats.

2. I will continue to be in my community and take part in, and get involved in everything I can so folks will see it can happen.

3. Focus on the positive.

Eric's message is one of leaving the luggage of life behind and taking the lesson with you.
