The holidays are often a time of joy and community, but for people in abusive relationships, the holidays can be stressful and dangerous. For many couples the night before Thanksgiving is spent double checking the pantry and preparing for family to arrive for a joyous day of gratitude. For one couple in 2006 it was spent fighting, and ended with one woman’s desperate attempt at escape.
