In this opening lesson of the WordAlive Bible Study series, “The Marks of Maturity,” Senior Pastor James D. Gailliard begins an in-depth study of 1, 2, and 3 John with “The Mark of Fellowship” from 1 John 1:1–4.
Spiritual maturity is not automatic. It is demonstrated in our ability to explain what we believe, experience the One we believe in, and live that faith in relationship with others.
In this message, Pastor Gailliard explores three dimensions of biblical fellowship:
• Fellowship in the Faith — understanding Jesus as the eternal, material, central, and personal foundation of our faith.
• Fellowship with the Father — recognizing that true fellowship is vertical before it is social and is made possible through the Son.
• Fellowship in the Family — discovering how Christian community shares, sharpens, and sustains us.
Mature faith is more than growing older in church. It is a life deeply connected to Christ, the Father, and the family of believers.
