In Luke 4, Jesus stood in the synagogue and read from Isaiah 61. He declared the acceptable year of the Lord, but He stopped before reading about the day of vengeance. That pause shows us the mercy of God.

Judgment is still coming, but right now the door of mercy is still open. The gospel still needs to be preached. Broken hearts still need to be healed. Captives still need deliverance. Blind eyes still need to be opened. Bruised lives still need to be set free.

This message looks at the mission Jesus announced, the power He gave the church through the Holy Ghost, and the responsibility we still have to be witnesses until the day of judgment.

Jesus still saves. The Holy Ghost is still being poured out. Acts 2:38 is still the answer.
