I’m Mike Curtis, Director of Special Initiatives for MindsEye Radio. MindsEye is a multi program non-profit that serves the blind and visually impaired population of the St Louis Missouri metro area as well as Central Illinois. Our 3 main programs are a Broadcast Information Service which is over 50 years running, where volunteers read magazines, newspapers, and digital material and then that gets broadcast out to users who can no longer read the printed word. We have a robust audio description program where we do live AD for theatre, sports, and arts. We also have an adaptive athletics program, highlighted by our beep baseball team the Gateway Archers. Our adaptive athletics program gives blind and vi athletes and outlet for team based sports, not traditionally offered.
