In the Bible times, the roof was an important ‘room’. It was constantly used for a variety of things. Why? Homes were small, dark, smelly, and the lower room held the animals. Why wouldn’t people want to be on the roof where it was bright, with fresh air wafting by, and roomy? In this episode I look at daily living in Bible times, focusing on the peoples' homes and especially the rooftops.
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://the-end-time.org/2021/04/08/up-on-the-roof/. The written essay contains all scripture references and also a video of The Drifters' song Up on the Roof. Enjoy
I use the NASB translation.
