Updated Autopsy Report

Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! We're tossed back onto the island, now with a roaring fire to keep us company! Sure is toasty in here! We discuss the true killer, the murders from before, and how it all clicks together. Did any of our predictions come true? Well, we got closer than maybe we thought we could. Also discussed are the fates of the other victims, our thoughts on the reveal, and of course getting sidetracked in Tomodachi Life. Island living, baby!

Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! Ahh, feels good to sink back into some comfortable pajamas, sit back, and read a book about the dark sin underpinning all of society as several classmates slowly unravel their friendships and turn against one another in a horrible murder plot! That's built on top of an earlier murder plot! We dive into The Decagon House Murders, the iconic novel from Yukito Ayatsuji that ushered in the era of shin honkaku mysteries! We debate the possible motives and killers, lounge around with Shimada and Kawaminami as they investigate, and discuss the possibility of our own murder mystery island vacation one day. It's got the juice, folks!

Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! Well, is everyone sick of puns now? We are! Oh baby, we just fought uphill and back, through two anime conventions, illness, and more life stuff, but we made it! Schlock Homes is complete. Bathroom readers were not meant to be shotgunned back-to-back like this. However, we still find some fun bits to appreciate, like Homes and Watney's excessive drinking, Watney's desire to watch cartoons, art history humor for Rose, and several goofy punctuation jokes that work amazingly on the page but are a bit harder to describe. So long, and thanks for all the Fish!

Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! You better be ready for some puns! Actually, not just some puns... a TON of puns! This wacky parody of Sherlock Homes by Robert L. Fish is a silly pun-vehicle, delivering dump trucks full of every possible pun imaginable. The whole time the two confidently stumble into the wrong solution - but they're solutions nonetheless. Did we expire under the weight of these puns? Or did we perhaps split this book into two parts, so as to not suffer unduly? Well, simply look at the "Part 1" in the title and see if you can deduce the solution, my dear Watney!

Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! We're back to crack the case of who murdered Roger Ackroyd! Did we have any good guesses? How close did we get to the truth? Well, we've actually got a wide spread! We discuss owls, poisons, Dr. Sexism, and being able to pull one over on your readers from beyond the grave! We also talk in general about misdirection, the role of the unreliable narrator, and our favorite character Caroline's ability to solve crimes! Did you read along or solve the crime, dear listener? Let's discuss!

Content warning/heads up: this episode features plenty of discussion about suicide via poisoning yourself.

Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! We're doing it! We're finally doing it! It's time for the queen of mysteries herself, Agatha Christie, to make her UAR debut! We're quickly enamored by the cast of characters here, such as our sexist narrator Dr. Sheppard, his gossiping sister Caroline, and the sweet yet stalwart Flora. Of course, it all orbits around our clever and persnickety detective, Hercule Poirot, who apparently was a surprise to Tiago! We theorize about the possible murderer, the motive, and whether you should listen to our podcast when you have a fever. Also discussed: high society, Mr. Robot, and TUBI!!!!

Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! This episode we have a bundle of fun stories featuring the world's greatest detective, ranging from marital problems to elaborate schemes to convince your daughter's fiancé that she doesn't love him anymore. Does a wild goose chase sound fun? Because there's one in here - literally! We also cover the iconic "Adventure of the Speckled Band," which looms large in the Holmes canon. Oh, and how do you feel about marrying your cousin? Not great, huh? Between all of that we find time to get a little wacky, and I've included roughly 10 minutes of bonus discussion from the pre-show as we warm up, in case you want a little extra UAR in your life.

Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! We're diving back into the Thames with the world's greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes! In this collection we cover several strange tales and mysteries that Holmes and Watson solve, such as a missing husband, a stepfather masquerading as someone else, some southern racists, and the only woman to ever beat Sherlock Holmes in a battle of wits! We also devolve into discussing Death Note, drugs, and hanging out with your bestie while married. What'll we get up to next?! (Probably more Sherlock, actually.)

Join us as Ben, Dessy, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! Time to start 2026 with a beautiful fantasy: a world in which cops are good, rich men get their comeuppance, and every murder gets solved. Yes, we're back with our good friend Columbo, who is this time up against John Cassavetes as Alex Benedict, an arrogant orchestra conductor that murders his mistress. We discuss the first appearance of the bestest little guy Dog, the wise-beyond-her-years neighbor girl Audrey, and of course, the (technically) first time Gwyneth Paltrow is on film. Yes, we talk about Goop. Also, we make an announcement at the end: Dessy will be stepping back from the podcast for a bit due to scheduling and personal reasons, but don't worry! Anytime things line up, we'll have them back on (they just won't be a regular for the time being). Whenever a new AA game comes out though, we'll be sure to reunite the full cast, so... Capcom? You're on notice!
