I revisit two apps that Apple updated with their new 10.9 Mavericks. Garageband and iMovie. Both of these apps have OSX counterparts. The big difference is they now talk to each other.

Using Airplay or iCloud, you can send your project to your Mac to continue working on.

New in Garageband

Garageband has one added feature – the ability to bring in 3rd party apps to create new instruments and sounds using Inter App audio. Along with the other instruments, you are able to make new tracks and sounds.

Garageband is also redesigned to allow for up to 32 tracks. In order to record 32 tracks you will need the new iPad Air.

New in iMovie

iMovie got more of an update. New transitions, new trailers and 16 new title styles. You can also bring in your slo-motion iPhone shots or any 120 fps video to apply in iMovie.

Another new feature is iMovie Theater – the ability to watch your creations on Mac, Apple TV or other devices.

iPad Air, iPad mini 2nd Gen – Worth the Purchase?

During this show, I also give my thoughts on iPad Air and the iPad mini. I go through the features and what iPad Air and mini have.

The biggest downfall to both iPad Air and mini is the camera. Why did Apple put in the same 5 MP camera instead of the 8 MP camera with flash sensor, panorama and slo motion options?
