It sounds so simple, so good, doesn't it? I mean, this is it... the foundational idea behind the establishment of the United States. That we all get to live as we please, provided our living doesn't infringe upon someone else's living.
But that's where the rub comes... when what I want, isn't what you want. When what I think is right, you believe is wrong. And it's a conflict that predates the Declaration of Independence. And we're still battling about rights today.
We're in week 13 of our series, Upside Down Kingdom: The Gospel According to Mark and Jesus is at the Temple in Jerusalem. He's fielding question after question from groups of disgruntled leaders. They're feeling threatened by His teaching and the authority with which He speaks. They are determined to set Him up and take Him down. "Who does He think He is? What right does He have to speak like this?"
