I. A distorted world.

  • The fall of mankind changed everything. (Gen. 1-3)
  • The result: An upside down world. (Gal. 4:4-5)

    • II. A divine plan.

    • To send a Deliverer. (Gen. 3:15; Lk. 1:67-75)
    • To make a point in the way He sent the Deliverer.
      • A King in a manger. (Rev. 1:4-5; 19:14-16; 17:14)
        • God was showing He has different priorities than us. (II Cor. 8:9)
        • Angels with shepherds. (Lk. 2:8-10)
          • God was showing that His ways are greater than ours. (Isa. 55:8-9)
          • Born to die. (John 3:16; 10:11, 17-18)
            • God was showing that His purpose is eternal and His love is limitless.

              • III. A decisive opportunity.

              • God's amazing offer. (II Cor. 5:17)
              • Our amazing opportunity.

                • Mark 8:34-36

                I will die to really live.
