On episode 125, Traylor and Melody are joined by Author Matt Johnson to discuss faith, his book Getting Jesus Wrong, belonging in a community and all that life throws at you.

 

Matt Johnson says his book is about “everything breaking” and describes it as the spiritual component of a mid life crisis. Throughout the book he discusses various stop points in his life and faith over the past 25 years and reflecting back on it all.

 

Matt grew up in a household where his spiritual journey really meant going to Christmas and Easter services, but not really connecting the dots between his life and Jesus being important to it. Around high school Matt says his older sister brought the entire family to faith. Matt discusses his faith journey since then and the various places he has found community and how they impacted him.
