Tray and Melody are joined by Pastor Bob Hiller on episode 128 to discuss a variety of topics. Bringing a sense of humor to a conversation about sports, faith, binge watching Netflix shows, love, Christian Celebrity culture and sustaining grace Bob Hiller makes episode 128 one you can’t miss.    Bob talks through his opinion on “Christian Celebrity culture”, how Ministry has become a sector of marketing and how it is affecting The Church. The job of the Gospel is not to give you a pretty life, but to forgive you and teach you to love.   Bob, Tray and Mel talk through the self gratification found through social media and the issues that arise from this. The social media culture feeds into the idea of the perfect life and exposing the unbelief you have in your life. They discuss how this creates an unhealthy culture of living up to others impression of you and how perfect your life appears. This is directly affecting The Church and as Christians exposes ourselves to a narcissistic way of life and living.   Bob grew up in the Lutheran church and his father is also a Lutheran pastor. Rev. Bob Hiller is senior pastor of Community Lutheran Church in Escondido, CA. He has a deep passion for preaching the word and credits his dad for instilling a love for the word of God and theology. Bob is married with three children. He is a weekly contributor to The Jagged Word blog and a regular contributor to the 1517 Legacy Project’s blog. He writes about theology, sports, and whatever might be bothering him at the time.
