Legend has it that if you say ‘SkeleTales’ three times into a mirror you will be doomed to speak in a poorly executed Australian accent for the rest of your days. Likewise, if your phone rings and the person on the end of the line breathes heavily before maniacally snort laughing, leave your home immediately, there is a SkeleTale inside your house!
Thats right folks, this week’s enigmatic episode focuses on the very real phenomena of false fables known as Urban Legends. Are lesser known Urban Legends sub-urban legends? If so, then, dear listeners check your backseat and settle in for some suburban legends that very well make your hair go white by the end of the episode.
The first tale focuses on a man named Arnold Brittany Wright who has a sick and insatiable need to prob unsuspecting buttholes. How many? No one knows. What is known is that A.B.W. performed his devious deeds disguised as an extraterestrial for decades along rural Texas highways.
While ‘ol Arnie Wright put his victims through hell, Alissa’s first tale takes you to the Stairway to Hell in Maltby Cemetary in Bothell Washington. Rumored to be built by a satanist family, you too can glimpse the gates of hell... Just be sure to bring a shovel.
After you visit hell, head over to Marfa, Texas for a glimpse of heaven, with the Marfa lights. Somehow the best explanation science could come up with to explain these illuminated oddities is that they are headlights, though they were first spotted in 1883, well before vehicular headlamps were the norm.
Alissa's final tale shines a light on bizarre tale of Mel’s Hole near Ellensburg, Washington. Britt brings a solid theory to the table that explains the lore surrounding the gaping phenomena and the ladies will be writing Atlas Obscura shortly to inform them that the case of Mel’s Hole has been closed.
