Royal Riot is joined by special guest Connor Oniki, Assistant Sporting Director for the Utah Royals — otherwise known as Royal Riot's number one fan, Toby! A longtime Royals and RSL fan, Utah local, and self-proclaimed CBA and salary-cap nerd, Connor brings a unique blend of legal expertise and club loyalty to the front office. After studying law and starting out as an intern with the club, Connor quickly worked his way into key roles — providing legal counsel for both teams and playing an instrumental part in the effort to bring the Royals back to Utah — before growing into his current role alongside Kelly Cousins. We talk about his experience at the final NWSL entry draft in 2024, demystify allocation money and contract nuances, and break down key items from the new CBA.
