Pōhakuloa Training Area, commonly referred to as PTA, is located between Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea and the Hualalai Volcanic Mountains on the Island of Hawaii. It is one of the key training areas in the Pacific theatre for crew and collective training so our nation’s forces in the region can achieve the highest levels of readiness. Concurrently, PTA has a robust environmental program and community outreach is a priority.
