In a show of support for the Hong Kong democracy movement, the US Congress recently passed “The Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act,” which US President Donald Trump signed into law. The House of Representatives also passed the Uighur Act of 2019 to condemn China’s treatment of its Uighur population.
