(Part 4 of 8) The choice for European populations between the Americans and the Russians was far harder in that time then we remember today. The lure of the Soviet argument was strong, until Stalin make a few mistakes and George Marshal outmaneuvered the Russian diplomats, for the first time in the western world, the USSR was reviled as a nationalist bully instead of an WW2 ally.
