Incoming US President Donald Trump has pledged to spend big money on infrastructure as a way to turbo charge the economy.

If it works, other countries like Australia will feel enormous pressure to do the same.

But, calls to borrow and build here may be met by a wall of resistance with debt wary politicians reluctant to take advantage of historically low interest rates.
