The US Substantial Presence Test & COVID19. Has the current crisis messed up your US tax plans?

For non-US citizens and green card holders, US tax residence is determined by reference to the Substantial Presence test which in turn is tested by reference to days spent in the US.

The current travel restrictions (and/or potentially the need to self-isolate) may have caused people to spend more, (or possibly less time), in the US than anticipated and hence may have thrown carefully prepared tax strategy plans into disarray.
