History Revisited With Reflection

US1.3, Part 2 - Complex Problems Under the Articles of Confederation

Listen Later

In this second part of a two-part episode focused on the complex problems that the United States was facing under the Articles of Confederation, I start off with a mental caveat inspired by the thoughts of Psychology professor, Daniel Todd Gilbert. Then I consider the tremendous burden that American veterans of the Revolutionary War were facing during the economic depression that they were living through. After that we also consider thoughts from John L. Smith Jr., Ben Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson. I suspect that Jefferson's thoughts might surprise you. ;-)

I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have.
