Program to increase US fish production using a land-based recirculating aquaculture system (RAS). An RAS system uses less water and energy, and we have the ability to monitor and control the environment in which the fish grow, increasing biosecurity and offering antibiotic-free and mercury-free fish. US fish production has significantly dropped whereby we are importing 90% from other countries. Increasing US fish production would improve the quality of the fish we eat as well as create US job and ownership opportunities. We also want to educate the public regarding the importance of including fish in a healthy diet. Fish is good for brain health and heart health. In particular, Pay It Forward's goal is to introduce safe and healthy fish to children such as in school systems, social services organizations, and more.
