Using Hymns in the Lord's Supper

Hymns have been associated with the Lord' Supper or Holy Communion since the night in which Jesus instituted this act of worship. We read in Mark 14:26 And when they had sung a hymn they went out... Mostly likely they sang from the later part of Psalm 118. A psalm associated with the Passover.
In keeping with the Biblical purpose of singing in the worship of God in Christ Jesus the psalms, hymns and songs we sing should be a way of the word of Christ dwelling in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom with thankfulness in our hearts to God.
This message illustrates the use of hymns in three recent communion services. The songs varied in their purpose from teaching, words of institution to sung prayers to God.
The hymns recited from three recent Sundays are:
How Sweet and Awesome is the Place > a teaching followed by prayer
Service 2
Jesus Invites His Saints >a teaching and exhortation song at beginning
For the Bread Which You Have Broken > a prayer hymn to the Lord Jesus at the conclusion
Service 3
When on That Night ('Twas on that Night) a hymn of the words of institution in two parts. First 3 stanzas before the Bread and the last 4 for the Cup
The Supper requires the right people- believers
the right words the Scripture especially Jesus words of institution,
the right elements the bread and the fruit of the vine (wine or grape juice) shared and   the people consuming the bread and wine
Prayer of Thanksgiving
The Holy Supper is a corporate act of worshipped commanded by Lord Jesus and spiritually beneficial to his people who eat and drink in faith.
