With the recent recognition of obesity as a complex disease, several professional organizations have published clinical practice guidelines for the management of obesity. Application of obesity guidelines in clinical practice is crucial to help patients achieve weight-loss goals and reduce their risks of adverse health consequences. However, discrepancies in recommendations across guidelines along with lack of use in practice has resulted in suboptimal management of patients with obesity. This CME aims to improve knowledge and awareness of clinical practice guidelines and how they can be incorporated into care.
