Unless you're very fortunate, have disposable income to save a deposit or have money from other sources, getting a deposit for your first investment property will be very difficult. It will also be slow and if you're not careful you could get thrown off course by life and never get started. Sweat equity could help you build some capital to get you started and you could even use it to find a mentor.

This won't be for everyone and there are definitely skills you need to learn but if you want to get started or keep your budget very tight it might be time o get your hands dirty.
