Immunizations director for the Utah Department of Health, Rich Lakin, says he's frustrated -- as are many other states -- by the information coming from the federal government when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. They find out one week how many doses they'll get the next week, making planning practically impossible. But on the bright side, he tells Dave & Dujanovic we ARE getting our fair share of the coronavirus vaccine here in Utah. Ramped up distribution continues to focus on Utahns over the age of 70 -- but as a next step, Lakin says the state is considering adjusting its priority list for the shots to include 11 pre-existing conditions identified by the CDC to work in conjunction with the current age-based system.
Dave & Dujanovic can be heard weekdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on KSL NewsRadio. Join hosts Dave Noriega and Debbie Dujanovic for the conversation.
