A man in his 50s is in “critical but stable” condition as a result of falling down an escalator and sustaining a serious head injury at a mall in Brisbane, Australia, on November 22, the Brisbane Times reports. The man was stabilized by paramedics on the scene, then transported to a local hospital. The mall issued a statement that wished the man a “speedy and full” recovery, and assured customers its escalators are safe to use and that it will “continue to monitor and review safety arrangements.”
