What does it take to launch a career in the UX industry? In the mystical world of UX unicorns and Design fairy tales, Designers code, Researchers design and all are well versed in every single prototyping tool. Of course, they enter the field in their 20s, own a Ph.D., and have at least 5 years of hands-on experience. In reality, though, it might take 15 years of experience in different industries, a Master's degree in your 30s, a good leap of faith, and the willingness to start over again. And this might just as well be what it takes to launch a career in the UX industry.
