Vacant Property Tours are giving community members and stakeholders a firsthand look at the challenges and opportunities surrounding neglected and abandoned spaces, according to UJRO Director Kaci Hubbard. By walking through these properties, participants can better understand the impact vacancy has on neighborhoods—from safety concerns to declining property values—while also exploring potential paths for redevelopment and revitalization. Hubbard says the tours are designed not only to raise awareness, but to spark collaboration between residents, local officials, and investors who are interested in restoring these properties and strengthening the community.
