For most pets, the benefits of being vaccinated greatly outweigh the risks. However, because vaccines stimulate the animal’s immune system, reactions can sometimes occur afterward. Most of the time these reactions occur within the first few hours following the vaccine and are generally mild, such as tenderness to the area or a fever. Less likely is a more serious side effect, such as an immune disease. Regardless of how serious the reaction is, vaccine complications can be scary for a pet parent. So, in this episode, I will share what to watch out for and how to react if your pet has a reaction so you can prepare for any outcome.
