Kenni Psenak is the wildfire outreach and communication manager at Alaska Venture Fund. Kenni talks with Mike Chmielewski about Alaska’s changing wildfire environment.

There are typically over 1,300 to 1,400 fires annually in Alaska. The number of larger fires has doubled over the past decade, averaging over 40 large wildfires per year. The Alaska Venture Fund works to pair communities and community partners, agencies, colleges, and science researchers with the funding and tools needed to study wildfires and helping prevent and fight them.
