A trip to Mars was supposed to be simple: run some tests, collect some rocks, maybe come back with a good story for the bar. Instead, chemist Dick Jarvis and biologist Leroy stumble into the leftovers of a long-dead civilisation that feels anything but gone. Under the dust of the red planet lies a city of impossible scale, a library full of unreadable books, and hints of beings who might have learned how to dream on behalf of others. Oh, and somewhere nearby hops an oddly charming native named Tweel, whose logic is as alien as the landscape.
