he sights, sounds, and flavors of Valparaíso had captured my heart, and I knew that I would always carry a piece of this special place with me wherever I went. As I boarded the bus that would take me back to Santiago, I made a silent promise to myself to return to Valparaíso someday, to once again lose myself in its winding streets and colorful alleyways, and to experience the magic of this city once more.
