Soon as you are born, the end of your life becomes quicker. It's very morbid, kind of depressing if you think about it too much, don't think about it though. Here's the thing, time is a valuable piece in our lives. In fact, most would say, and dare I argue, it is the most valuable piece in our life. We should, we should look at it as such. So what do we do? Well, we should value our time. Value others' time, value other people's time, and value our own time. Right? Very important. Time is a non-renewable resource. You can always make more money, but you can't make time. And the problem is as business owners, we get stuck in this rut of thinking, we don't wanna spend money, we'd rather spend time. No, you'd rather spend money and keep your time. In fact, I'm at a point in my life where I wanna buy back my time. Like there's sh*t I don't wanna do so I pay others to do it, or I automate it, or I delegate or innovate to make sure I don't have to. Time is very valuable. So what are some ways that you can follow or what are some steps you can follow? What are some things you can do to not only value your time, but save your time and keep your time as that valuable resource? Number one, follow a schedule, follow a schedule. Like everything you do should be on your calendar. Everything you do should be on your calendar at an event a couple of weeks ago, we talked about time budget. We talked about having budgets that are related to our time that keep us focused on what it is we need to accomplish what it is we need to do. So knowing what we spend our time on can help us focus on getting that time. We need to do the things we want to do. Knowing your time allows you to maximize your time. So how do you do that? You follow your schedule. If it's not on the schedule, don't do it. That's pretty aggressive. Yes, but it allows you to take control of your time. The second thing, is don't allow phone calls, emails, or texts to blow up your day. Don't allow it. This is one of the hardest things for me. I wanna solve problems. I wanna solve problems. Now I get an email at seven o'clock at night. I wanna respond to the email, wrong. You don't need to respond to an email at seven o'clock at night, respond to the email at 9:00 AM, or whatever your dedicated time is to respond to email. There are a lot of people that follow first in email, and then they don't look at their email for the rest of the day. Honestly, our business doesn't work that way, but if yours does follow it, the same thing with texts, the same thing with phone calls. Just because somebody calls you on the phone does not mean they get your time. Don't answer every call. Don't respond to every text. Don't respond to every email because it is not that urgent. What is urgent? Stuff you have to get done today in order to get the stuff done today, you have to do the activity. You're not doing the activity. If you're jumping, not doing that activity. And honestly, if people get upset because you're not responding to their email, text, or phone call, they don't value your time. And if they don't value your time, then you can't value theirs. Yeah, it hurts. I know. So follow, follow a schedule. One of the biggest things for me that I've hated, hated, hated, hated, but I've succumbed to it. And that step two is to give people calendar links to schedule your time. It's amazing though. It is amazing. You gotta go into the program, set up when you're available when you're not available, and then you give them a link, and then they can pick when they wanna schedule time with you. You can request them to provide you with information for that time. Like, what is it that you wanna discuss? What do you wanna accomplish? What are your goals of this call? Things like that. But then they are scheduling the time. You don't have to go back and forth to come up with the perfect time. And so following a schedule, providing a calendar link, and really honing in on your time. If you take value in your time, people will then see your time as valuable. But if you don't, no one else will. You wanna DMN8 the day? You wanna get ahead of the curve, see time is that valuable non-renewable resource. And once you do, once you do that, then you'll definitely DMN8 the day.
