It’s Broken Records! The hunt for the worst album ever made is back on, and this week Steve and Remfry decide to induct the 11th studio album by hard rock legends Van Halen, confusingly titled III, released on the 17th of March 1998.
After falling out with all of his various previous frontmen, guitar god Eddie Van Halen decided to rope in vocalist Gary Cherone of funk rockers Extreme to take his band into the new Millennium. It didn’t go so good! Despite the Van Halen camp constantly telling anyone that would listen that their connection with Cheron was the strongest they had ever had, fans hated the album, it sold a fractional amount in comparison with their other work and Cherone was ousted from the band 20 months after the albums release. But that doesn’t mean it’s bad does it…!
