This week, protestors chained themselves to trees in Surrey’s Hawthorn Park to halt development of a new and controversial road. This type of activism is nothing new in our province - in fact, it’s become something we’re well known for. Today, we call them activists; however, 30 years ago, they would have been known as “punks.”
