All rise and due reverence to Thrasamund, First of His Name, the Peaceful Persecutor, King of the Alani and Vandals!
After the unremarkable King Huneric died from worms eating him from the inside out, his nephew Gunthamund was crowned King. He did not irritate the Romans or any of the other Vandal rivals enough for them to write about his reign in detail.
After an unfortunate “hunting accident”, Gaiseric’s grandson Thrasamund succeeds him on the Visigothic throne. In addition to being partially responsible for the death of the Visigothic King Alaric II in an odd way, he takes a unique approach in his attempts to get the heretical Nicene Christians to convert to the Vandal state sponsored Arian Christianity.
