Visual and Performing Arts High School Update

Hello VAPA Community. This isDr. Trimis, Principal, with a few reminders. Tomorrow is a shortened dayschedule. Students are released at 1:45 pm.

As we enter our second weekof school, we continue to be very busy at VAPA. This week we will have textbookand locker distribution and several activities and events. Wednesday afterlunch our advanced performing groups are being visited by representative fromthe Music Center to get information about the current Spotlight AwardsCompetition and the Young Arts Competition as well as a performance from twoSpotlight alumni. Thursday we will have our Aloha Assembly at 2 pm where ourstudents will hear all about the many clubs and activities we have at VAPA aswell as be treated by a preview from some of our performing groups includingthe new marching band. Friday we will have Club Rush at lunch when student cansign up for clubs and on Friday is our opening football game when the LegacyTigers will take on the Huskies of North Hollywood. JV game is at 4 pm andVarsity at 7 pm. A reminder to all of our students to start the year off rightby staying on top all your work and a reminder to our parents and guardians toplease complete the application for free or reduced lunch as soon as possible.Quite a bit of our funding in the new funding model is based on theseapplications.
