In January 1996, the sleepy Brazilian town of Varginha became ground zero for terror from the stars. A crippled cigar-shaped craft plummets from the sky, spewing sulfurous smoke and unearthly debris. Three terrified girls lock eyes with a frail, oil-slicked being—massive head ridged with horns, glowing red orbs pleading in the shadows. Military police grapple a wounded creature into their trunk, its ammonia reek searing lungs and souls alike.

Then comes the horror: a young officer scratched by alien touch, whispering "It's inside me" as infection claims his life.
