This track builds on a retro-80s cinematic theme inspired by scenes across a western desert. We used vintage analog synthesizers along with current sounds and production techniques. There’s a bit of wordplay in the title, “Gary Manslaughter,” as an homage to retrowave.

The music video was compiled from clips of our West Coast gigs and road trips produced by Seannie Cameras (Sean O'Grady).

Velocity 128 - Gary Manslaughter

Currently one-half of the synthwave duo, Velocity 128, Jonathan Lim is an electronic musician, producer, and DJ whose music draws from new wave, alternative rock, and dance music influences to create a soundtrack for nostalgic afternoon vibes and afterhour dance sessions. For live performances, Velocity 128 continues their residency at Betamax Video Club - a monthly synthwave and 80s B-movie event in Washington, DC.

Previously, as a keyboard player and co-songwriter for the electronic rock band, 23RAINYDAYS, the band received media attention in 2009 when MTV selected the band as a Top 3 Breakout Artist out of DC.
