Venezuela’s political crisis appears set to intensify after President

Nicolás Maduro closed Venezuela’s border with Brazil and threatened to do the

same with Colombia to stop deliveries of humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, U.S. and

Chinese negotiators continued haggling in Washington yesterday to avoid a

worsening trade war.
